Drupal: Not node queue - node reference

I thought I'd better share this. Mainly so I don't forget, but also for anyone else who may have this strangely specific need.

Problem: An editor wants to control the ordering of a list of new content that's featured in an email newsletter.

The new search engine hits the streets, but misses Surbiton.

Marquee de Sade

I've spent a few hours in the past weeks looking into how to implement an accessible, unobtrusive, progressive degrading scrolling ticker. Guess what ended up with? MARQUEE.

Yes, it's a proprietary Microsoft tag, it's not web standards compliant and it annoys the hell out of most users, but if you want a load of text to scroll across your page, it just works. As far as I'm aware all modern browsers support it, it degrades gracefully, doesn't require any javascript and is simple to implement. Any you know what? The latest specs for HTML 5 list it as a supported tag.

Drupalcon Barcelona 2007

This year I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to go to Drupal's annual conference, this year hosted in Barcelona. Drupal is an open source Content Management System (CMS), that I've used on a number of sites and is currently being rolled out for the Interactive Investor site. Nader Cserny flew over from Berlin to join in the fun. The following is pretty much a day by day appraisal of the conference and the sessions I attended.

The conference lasted for four days across four conference rooms with six sessions a day. That's a choice of ninety-six possible sessions!

The science of web advertising

Everyone agrees that web advertising is not only pervasive and annoying, but how affective is it? I spotted some interesting new research recently.

Welcome

I've finally got around to doing something with this domain name.
Here it is. Do what you will, I'll decide better what it's for another time.
